LONDON IS MY HOME

Its been a month since i have been here and I must say that I think I'm in LOVE!!! I'm not to sure if its all the walking and the feeling of not being lazy after you eat because you gotta walk yourself home instead of hopping into a car.
OR
The diversity of people you see everywhere you go that makes me love this city even more, each day I step outside.
The weather is actually to my surprise not that bad, however it is starting to get a little chilly as Fall sets in.
Okay so i went to a "football" game it was so fun, 52,000 people in attendance the energy was so LIVE it as GREAT! I also had a chance to go to London Fashion Weekend which was also a wonderful experience. Tons of designers selling their items at whole sale prices, it was SO COOL to be apart of that.
AND THEN
last weekend i went to PARIS, the weather the people the language AND the food was MARVELOUS!!! Had the opportunity to ride the elevator to the top of the Eifel tower!!! breath taking view from the top ( a bit scary but non the less an blessing to be there) . Went to the Notre Damn Cathedral which was so coo. WE actually had the chance to go inside while church service was going on, the architecture was SO BEAUTIFUL!!!! Later that day headed to the famous Lourve Museum to see MONA LISA aong with Ramsey the 2, and the Code of Hammurabi ( the fist ever written law code known to humans) which was of course very cool...
That whole weekend i realized that i LOVE the FRENCH language. Though I didn't care 4 it much when i took 2 years of it in junior high. NOW i think it is SUCH a beautiful language the way the sentences sound reminds me of a song the way it flows so beautifully together!!! Another thing on my to do list... Learn the French Language!!! :-)

All in all im having an amazing time here. And surprisingly i don't feel like a foreigner anymore! After being in France, coming back to London for some odd reason made me feel more at home. This is my home ( for now at least) and i must say i love it here and can very well see myself moving back in the future.
Until next time

17 days...

17 days...

In the last 17 days i came to London, England to start a new journey. To break away from all that I knew and discover the unknown. To challenge my self, and everything i was comfortable with..

In the last 17 days I have made a new home, met great people, explored an ancient city, been to art galleries, and Pubs, discount fashion forward stores, and the beautiful coast of england Brighton Pier.

Classes have been going pretty good, I think I am taking some interesting classes, with a range of different people in each Which makes for very interesting class discussions. One that is particularly interesting to me is a PoliSci class called Islam ad the West, learning about the Muslim faith which I never knew much about is so interesting. I love learning about religions/cultures/traditions that hold so much HISTORY!!!
Aside from class what i have been doing a lot of is WALKING!!! I can now say I wish I didn't have flat feet. Got to the point where every step i can feel. Now i am searching for those shoe sole cushions to insert into EVERY SHOE i have HA!
Last Weekend I wen to Brightion Pier a very quaint beach city on the coast of England. it was Amazing, absolutely breath taking.... reminded me of a santa monica pier... Minus the large crowds, traffic, and pollution, AND add a castle where royalty often laid there head on vacations. :-) I had fish and chips by the sea, i did not fancy it to much But you gotta try everything once RIGHT!

The Rain blessed us with it's presence a few days ago, eagerly reminding me that YES you are in London, get used to this. SO mustering up the Strength my room mate and i did not decide to let the weather get the best of us(well sort of) we stalked up on what the grocery store called "usa food" and watched movies online haha

Aside form my bad luck with my banks.... one card being ate by the ATM machine, another being deactivated without my notification from my bank, i have been having a good week. Im walking Im breathing. Went to a Bar that is kept at below 0 degrees.. ABSOLUTE ICE BAR was like an experience I have never had before.. walked in handed them a ticket and like getting on a roller coaster they give you ground rules, "here is your coat, gloves connected to your jacket, you have 45 min" Looking at my unfashionable cape like coat they slide over me i thought "THIS IS SO COOL" Apprehensive we walked though a lukewarm area and a sliding door opened to a world of everything ICE!!! the bar the drinks poured in Ice cups, that molded to your lips by the time you where done drinking your drink. seats where Ice walls where ice Everything was...about 15 Min. and my finger tips where getting numb haha.. but it was such an experience had a great time, and I can say that I survived the popular ABSOLUTE ICE BAR...

I was blessed and able to book trips in the near future to Holland and Amsterdam, with hopes of making it to greece for Fall break and Rome to visit Family in November, and a trip to Budapest as well... So complaining is the last thing I will be doing because Everytime I wake up it hits me that I am here finally, so make the most of IT!!!

....17days it has been of excitement, and NEW unexpected things I encounter each day..17 days down..its going by fast so Im absorbing as much as i can and making sure I remember every moment with Pictures AND THIS BLOG!!

PEACE AND LOVE ALWAYS

Just thought it was cool!!!

Rasta playing Bob Marley in the Tube Station!!!!!
Rasta Playing Bob Marley in the tube station!!!

Nice night out found this guy playing his music in a cobble stone courtyard

Reality is setting in!!!

This is my home???
Some days are harder than others realizing I will be away from everything and everyone for so long. I feel for the first time I am depending on only myself. Its challenging yet rewarding at the same time. And believe me the feeling of not having my own space, bathroom, and shower have refreshed my appreciation for apartment living in college. BUT the dorms give you an atmosphere and a bond with ppl. you wouldn't normally associate with so i am grateful for that....
Reality has set in!!
SCHOOL STARTED, I am only taking four classes yet I feel that being in a classroom with people from all over the world is going to make these classes very interesting. Thus far I actually look forward to going to my classes.

Kensington is so beautiful its lined with beautiful houses and flats that have an old hollywood set look to it. The richest of the rich live in this part of town. Yet turn a few corners and your on the busy shopping district of Kensington, High street. Double decker busses, and the classic black cab roll alongside londoners in a rush to school, work, or the next shop :-) in their edgy fashion forward outfits. If those adjectives aren't enough to explain it i just simply love it here.

I have been trying to post pictures on to my facebook, but the network here at school for some reason wont allow me, but i am going to keep on trying. Its about 12:00 am now and its time for me to go to bed.... the day is 10.9.09 Not october 9, but september 10. ( if that makes sense)Im trying to adjust myself to the way they write the date out here month first, then day... lol. I have been so out the loop with no television, but i found time to watch Obamas speech on education on youtube today. For some reason I'm trying to stay away from reading the news paper and watching the news for a while. It is actually more peaceful. But i don't know how much longer that will last.

I am considering joining a local gym at a college close to ours to keep up a healthy lifestyle to go along with all the walking I am doing. I also am researching dance classes as many of you know i LOVE dance. Haven't danced in a coupe months and i am going to find some classes to take out here. In a nuthshell i am having a blast and I am so grateful for this amazing opportunity!!!

until next time

MIND THE GAP

OKAY i have made it, its my 5th day here, Sorry i have not had time to blog so many things going on on top of the jet lag random hours of sleep!!!

So far everything is really cool, the city is beautiful, ancient buildings and beautiful architecture fill the streets. the area that we live in is So nice, everything is walking distance.. in the past 5 days i rode the TUBE (train) n "minded the gap" several times saw parliament, The Palace, Hyde park, Notting Hill wonderful shops on high street, big ben the london bridge, the Tower bridge (which i just learned is NOT the london bridge though many think it is) Been on a boat party that circled the Thames river saw Wicked the musical and much more. Classes start on monday so i am sure my adventures will slow down a bit.

However, I can say this its still a trip that this is my home for the next 3-4 months The diversity of this city is amazing, i feel that i can learn so much about other cultures by being here. The accents are fun!! and I think what i love most is that i get to learn and explore something new every singe day

This my FRIENDS..
Is exactly what i wanted a new scenery a different and refreshing point of view that is outside of what i was used to and new ppl. and Boy did i get it. Taking a while to get used to. Like living in a dorm after 3 years of living in an off campus apartment...lol But So far so good stay tuned!!!

AM i REALLY doing this???

So i set out to study abroad about a year ago this very same time. I was frustrated with the every day same routine life i was leading at CSUN. Obviously I'm on my road to graduation but before I left college, i wanted to be sure i never looked back and said..." what if.." SO i steeped into the international Exchange office in CSUN for the first time, and never looked back..

It was a LONG process and seemed like the day would never come. Now, I sit writing on my blog 5 days away from what i hope to be an amazing life changing experience for me! So this is my VOWE to all those that have enough time to visit my blog during these next 4 months and experience London, England from Zeny's Perspective

I promise to update you on the most exciting things going on in my life while in London, and i hope that you too can take something from this experience VIA my blog

STAY TUNED for updates!!!
PEACE n LOVE
