There was one finalist story that really stuck with me. A woman enduring Genocide in Rwanda at only age 9 when her family was brutally murdered leading to her life long mission to tell her story.
So many people doing so many great things in the world I think we get so consumed in our daily lives we often forget how to actually live and what it all really means.
When our time is past and our party days are gone, how will we be remembered? The entrepreneur machine, the corporate America guru? I think its important that we please ourselves and make ourselves happy in the success we strive to obtain, but within that lies the deeper meaning of happiness and a deeper understanding of life. I’m only 23 and haven’t lived through the life that will confront me in the future years to come. But I know the gratifying feeling to help someone who needs it, or the shear joy I feel when I hear a persons story form struggle to triumph.
We are all individually blessed and have a special place and purpose on this earth. Don’t loose site of the bigger picture while running to your next class or scheduling your next meeting. People suffer and endure tragedy every Day, Minute, and Second so I ask the question again… when all is set and done what do you want to be remembered by? Your name or your legacy?
Food for thought…
